In 2018 the Vitali Architettura studio designs and builds “Happy Feet” a children’s shoes store with a total space of about 90 m2. The customer immediately exposes the need to effectively display the products, but also to create an environment where parents and children can feel at ease, a versatile space where you can both buy and entertain. So this area is divided with areas and paths suitable for parent and children. The large central circular area hosts games of various kinds suitable for distracting children while parents can safely observe and choose the items on display.
Items located not only on the curved gondolas surrounding the play area, but also on the shelves, positioned around the perimeter.
What characterizes and identifies “Happy Feet” differentiating it from local shops, is the large three-dimensional bear (270 cm high) with built-in TV, positioned laterally. An element that attracts and engages children in a cinema space tailored for them, an area that is also very useful to the parent during the “shoe test” phase, a sometimes complicated moment especially when we are in front of very young children, who here instead they are calm and at ease.
All the design therefore revolves around the need explained above, featuring playful elements such as trains and swings for the footwear testing phase, castle-shaped displays for the exhibition of items for sale, backlit clouds on the ceiling to simulate the clear sky of the sunny days and so on. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of shopping itself by encouraging the customer to return again.
